The Big Reveal: iOS 6 Availability In Your Time Zone

20120919-111927.jpg

Here’s something!

IPhoneInCanada.Ca has come across a chart via Fortune.Com that indicates when iOS 6 will be available for download in your time zone.

If all goes according to plan, this chart is “on the money” but who knows what Apple
will do at this point?

When I woke up this morning, the Software Update tab was missing in my Settings App. Then, it magically reappeared about 5 minutes later. I am sure it was just a case of the pre-update jitters, but let’s hope it’s still there come update time!

Once again, iOS 6 update will work with iPhone 3G/4/4S, iPod 4th generation and iPad 2/new iPad.

Naturally, if you are purchasing the iPhone 5 or new iPod Touch, these devices will already have iOS 6 in their system.

Do you have download fever? I sure do! Ninety minutes to go as of this writing!

Telus Mobility Is Promising iPhone 5 Delivery By September 28th

20120916-095244.jpg

Update: September 19th: If you ordered your iPhone 5 before 4:00 P.M on Friday, September 21st, you should have your phone by Friday, September 21st. Otherwise, it will arrive on September 28th.

So, what are you waiting for?

Telus Mobility has been mighty aggressive in making certain that you come to them and only them for the iPhone 5 activation.

Not only do they have the best pricing plans, but now they are promising delivery by September 28th.

When I clicked over to Bell and Rogers, there was no indication of when you would receive your spanking new iPhone 5.

But then, what else is new? They were slow from the “get-go” – ordering online was delayed and/or you had to phone customer service to receive any kind of action from these two companies.

On the other hand, Telus had all their little duckies lined up in a row from the moment the pre-order date became live, from attractive voice and date packages and, now,the promise that if you order NOW, you will indeed receive your iPhone 5 by September 28th.

Have you ordered your iPhone 5 yet? If so, are you making the move to Telus?

The September 12th, 2012 Apple Event: Live Blog Via Mashable.Com

20120911-204014.jpg
The Apple iPhone Event is finally here and so am I! So, I am going to be hanging out over at Mashable.Com, AllThingsD.Com and iMore.Com where their superb tech staff will be covering the entire proceedings from inside the Yerba Buena Center.

Last evening, the Wall Street Journal had this to say:

Jefferies analyst Peter Misek: “While there may be fewer surprises than there have been in prior years (as the number of leaks seem to be uncharacteristically high this time around), we still see numerous catalysts for the shares to perform well over the next couple months and the next year.”

Misek, who has a $900 price target on Apple, sees virtually no chance that the company will announce iTV at this event. But he does forecast several other events that may take place: “9/12 iPhone 5 announcement, 9/14 preordering starts, 9/21 retail sales start, 9/23 announcement of first weekend sales, 9/28 announcement of the first week’s sales, by 10/10 invitation for the iPad mini event, mid-Oct iPad mini announcement, 10/23 likely release of CQ3 earnings results, end-Oct iPad mini launch.”

Hmm – no mention of the iPad Mini at this event? I don’t know, that just seems weird and almost disappointing considering all the hype surrounding it. Mind you, we are only a month away from the proposed October date, so it’s close enough. But, a mention would be great. Something to tangibly anticipate and plan for as the holiday season approaches.

Live blog on the inside starting at 10:00 A.M. Pacific

The Eve Of Apple’s iPhone 5 Event: The Longest Twenty-Four Hours Ever.

20120911-125037.jpg

Tick tock, tick tock! Anyone else looking at the clock today? Is it moving a tad slower than usual?

That’s because the mother of all tech events, the Apple iPhone 5 announcement, is just twenty-four hours away.

And the stories and the mania continue as, once again, everyone tries to predict just what Apple has in store, so to speak, for their avid consumers.

If I look at another mock-up video or read another article predicting what the new iPhone will resemble, not to mention the highly publicized refresh of the iPods and iPad, I think I may be straight-jacketed here. I just can’t take it anymore. Nun, uh!

However, one thing is certain. This iPhone and very possible multi-product event will break records in sales and create a fervor like never before.

The iPhone 5 was the last project with which the late Apple co-founder, Steve Jobs, was intimately involved from start to finish. This fact alone will spur consumers to shell out money for this device.

It is an historically significant product and, even as time advances further exciting technological discoveries, this iPhone will never leave my house. It is steeped in history and memories that are irreplaceable.
