The Eve Of Apple’s iPhone 5 Event: The Longest Twenty-Four Hours Ever.
Tick tock, tick tock! Anyone else looking at the clock today? Is it moving a tad slower than usual?
That’s because the mother of all tech events, the Apple iPhone 5 announcement, is just twenty-four hours away.
And the stories and the mania continue as, once again, everyone tries to predict just what Apple has in store, so to speak, for their avid consumers.
If I look at another mock-up video or read another article predicting what the new iPhone will resemble, not to mention the highly publicized refresh of the iPods and iPad, I think I may be straight-jacketed here. I just can’t take it anymore. Nun, uh!
However, one thing is certain. This iPhone and very possible multi-product event will break records in sales and create a fervor like never before.
The iPhone 5 was the last project with which the late Apple co-founder, Steve Jobs, was intimately involved from start to finish. This fact alone will spur consumers to shell out money for this device.
It is an historically significant product and, even as time advances further exciting technological discoveries, this iPhone will never leave my house. It is steeped in history and memories that are irreplaceable.
Below, you will find links to important resource sites that will keep you informed of the September 12th event:
I hope to live blog as well as I usually just head on over to Mashable.Com and add information on GrannieTheGeek.Com via their excellent sources.
So, if for some reason you cannot access their busy site, then rest assured that Grannie The Geek has your little ‘ole back covered and will provide information as it is released.
The Mystery Of The Shadowy Number 5 In The Apple September 12th Invite
Earlier today, I wrote an article about the upcoming Apple Event on September 12th.
I mentioned that, perhaps, the shadowed reflection of the Number 5 in the media invite may not be referring to the new iPhone but rather to 5 new products.
It was just a theory but suddenly it has taken on a life of its own.
Now, it appears, that Apple may issue several new iPod products in addition to the iPhone. And, it doesn’t seem so far-fetched to think that the iPad Mini may make an appearance as well.
Personally, I found an October release for the iPad Mini a little late in the season. I don’t know about you, but I shop early and, when weighing in the supply and demand for these products, i want to make sure that my Apple gifts arrive early rather than late.
Early October would work but mid to late October would be dicey. Plus the competitors are releasing tablet products in September so why would Apple wait to release it’s new iPad Mini?
And we can’t forget the rumored refresh of the new iPad.
Yes, a 5 – product announcement at the September 12th Event seems even more plausible. An iPhone, a refresh of the new iPad, an iPad Mini and a couple of iPods. And, let’s throw in a new Apple TV as well – just for fun.
If I was a betting gal, I would place my bucks on 5 products. How about you?
Apple iPhone 5 Event: The Number 5 Never Looked So Good.
Apple sent this media invite to its September 12 event, widely expected to be the launch of the next iPhone
Do you have a birthday or anniversary on September 12th? A wedding? A newborn baby scheduled for delivery?
None of this matters. Nobody cares because the world will officially stop as Apple unveils it’s much-anticipated, sure to be record-breaking in sales new iPhone – the iPhone 5.
Media contacts were sent their official invitation with a great big number 5 on the cover. I received mine but I am scheduled for a hair appointment that day and will have to pass. Kidding! KIDDING!
So, I guess it’s safe to say that, since the the number 5 is plastered on the cover of the invitation, the new iPhone will indeed be called the iPhone 5.
Or maybe Apple is just playing with us and will release 5 products on September 12th. Now that would be something, huh?
This probably won’t happen, though. I am hoping that the rumored IPad Mini and revised iPod Touch ( which will probably combined into one product) and retooled iPad 3rd generation will be released on the first anniversary of Steve Jobs‘ death – October 5th. There’s that number 5 again!
However, maybe Apple has other plans to mark this important date. Time will tell.
All I know is this – this Phone will shatter record sales like never before. It is the last project that had Steve Jobs full attention before he died and that alone will motivate people to grab this historic phone.
And, with the implementation of iOS 6, a newly improved camera, 4″ retina display with in cell technology and more, this phone will climb more mountains and leap more hurdles than all the other phones combined.
Are you excited? You should be! We are talking ground-breaking technology here!
It’s Going To Be A Long, Tedious Road To October’s New iPhone Launch
What is it – June 13th today? That means we have just four months or so until Apple releases it’s new IPhone.
It may as well be four years! The media is swirling with reports about what this IPhone will look like, sound like, smell like, talk like. I’m no better – I jumped on this nutty bandwagon with the rest of the geeks!
However, I stand by my recent article: this phone is going to be revolutionary, much like it’s predecessor, the IPhone 4.
But will it look like this?
Or this?
Or, well, this?
We need to chill people! Don’t go all Gizmodo on me and break the law trying to get your fingers on a prototype. If you do, there are worse things than jail. Apple will ban you for life, forcing you to use Android products and Google search no matter how irrelevant they become in the future. That’s solitary isolation in tech terms and you don’t want to go there.
Are you salivating at the prospect of this new IPhone? What secrets will it unlock? Will the “point-and-shoot” cameras finally be obsolete? Or close to? Comment away geekers!
With iOS 6 And More – The New IPhone Is Going To Be Phenomenal!
The announcement of the iOS 6 upgrade at 2012 WWDC had all the markings of Steve Jobs’ enormous influence. The sad news: he wasn’t here to live and breathe the ongoing phenomenal product releases that he so impeccably envisioned.
Thankfully, he nurtured a remarkably gifted Apple team with the noticeably improved charismatic presence of Tim Cook at the helm.
On Monday, June 11th, 2012, Tim Cook and his team of engineering magicians walked us through the jaw-dropping breakthroughs at Apple.
Update: Some features, such as Mapping, Siri, Flyover, will be limited to the IPhone 4S and new IPad. Read the fine print or just buy the new IPhone in October. 🙂

All this and Apple has yet to mention the upcoming new IPhone release this Fall. But, with yesterday’s breakthrough announcements, one can only imagine how powerful this new IPhone is destined to be.
This Phone will obviously come shipped and ready to impress via iOS 6 installation. But, what else can we expect? What else?
What else indeed! Expect a revolutionary new camera that will put an end to the point-and-shoot cameras once and for all. We know that the late Steve Jobs wanted to revolutionize the Photo Industry and, according to all reports, this new IPhone was the last project he worked on before his untimely death.
And if you think the IPhone 4S had record sales, just you wait Henry Higgins, just you wait! This Phone is going to shatter all previous sales records and become the best-selling product of all-time.
So, connect the dots – this camera is going to be awesome. And, with the evolution and continued refinement of the Photo Apps, why in heavens name would one want to buy a $2000 camera?
I designed stellar Apple photo books and calendars for my grandchildren comprised of IPhone pictures only and the photos were remarkable. Granted, some were clearer than others, but that was my fault rather than the fault of the camera itself.
If you want to see a cool voodoo concept for the new iPhone, check out this video below. It will make you drool like a teething baby. It may not happen in Fall 2012, but it is not far into the future. Not by a long-shot.
