Apple’s Big “Wish We Could Say More” Event Slated To Kick Off On September 9th
This is going to be quite the Fall season for www.apple.com. According to Apple honchos, these announcements are going to be major and some of the most innovative to date.
Rumors of two new iPhones, IWatch, Near Field Communication technology (NFC) are nearing confirmation, according to iPhoneInCanada.Ca.
I am squealing like a little girl except I am far from the “little girl” thing. Really far. Hence the name for this blog.
Anyway, mark your calendars for Tuesday, September 9th and try to figure out the significance of the tag line, “Wish We Could Say More”. Oh those Apple geniuses – they never stop toying with our minds, do they?
The media event will take place at the Flint Center for the Performing Arts in Cupertino at 10AM PST. Apparently, Walt Mossberg tweeted that this is where the first MAC was introduced.
Interesting and intriguing fact.
Will we be once again be wowed by the unveiling of new products destined to take over the technological world?
And, do those numbers in the picture above mean anything? Not sure. What do you think? I am more intrigued by that tagline.
Thanks again to IPhoneInCanada.Ca for being my guiding light. Life can be frantic at my end. I am a geek, but also a grandmother. The latter takes up more of my time and happily so. However, I promise to be more consistent with my articles during the 2014-2015 season.

How To Manually Back Up Your iPhone To A Computer If It -The iPhone – Is Wearing A Mophie Battery
In a word or two? You can’t.
Don’t get me wrong, I love my Mophie products. I have a portable battery and a wearable one as well for my precious iPhone 5.
But, with the iOS 7 update looming, I thought perhaps it was time to do a manual back-up in addition to the back-up on my iCloud storage plan.
So, I plugged the iPhone into my iMac – something I had not done in a while – and I waited and waited and waited. Nothing happened.
I rebooted, restarted, unplugged, updated both my iPhone and iTunes software. Still nothing.
Well, this was not good.
So, I took a break and went to purchase some Tim Hortons donuts for my America’s Got Talent Performance Finale Party tonight and then it hit me.
My Mophie Battery! Now, maybe it was the Timmies talking, but I had a revelation.
I was using the USB recharging cable from my Mophie product because this is basically how I charge my iPhone every night. Both the battery and iPhone are “joined at the hip” and I just assumed that the USB end of the cable would communicate with my Mac.
Well, guess what? It doesn’t! My iPhone 5 was craving its lightening cable big time.
So, I disconnected the bottom of the battery unit and exposed the original lightening port, plugged in my lightening USB cable and watched the magical import process begin on my iMac.
And that is it. Not a big how-to but important enough nonetheless. Better than tearing out your hair, right? And, if you are reading this and it made your day, then – you’re welcome. 🙂

The Apple Store is down. My Apple TV Unit is acting wonky. I can’t connect to iTunes.
So, this can only mean one thing.
Apple is ready to shove a bunch of new products in our faces and, like giddy excited children on Christmas morning, we cannot wait to unwrap the goodies under the old Apple tree.
So, this blog topic is ready to go and live updates will be added below throughout the morning.
Additionally, I will live blog this event courtesy of Mashable.Com and iPhoneInCanada.Ca.

Apple’s iPhone Event Scheduled To Take Place On September 10th

So much is resting on the success of Apple’s Press Conference on Tuesday, September 10th. So. Much.
As astutely demonstrated in this CNN article, Apple’s iPhone has taken a bit of a tumble from grace due to Samsung’s stronghold in the Smartphone Market.
Here is an excerpt from the CNN article:
“But as phones running Google’s Android operating system, particularly Samsung’s, have gained in popularity, iPhone owners have increasingly found themselves looking around and wondering, “Why can’t my phone do that?”
Many Android phones have bigger screens than the iPhone. Some are water-resistant and can even snap photos underwater. Android apps can update automatically. Users can control Motorola’s new Moto X phone with their voice, without touching it. And that’s just the beginning.
Add to that the fact that many in the tech world saw the iPhone 4S and iPhone 5 as incremental advances, not the seismic leaps forward we’d come to expect from Apple, and you’ve got the more pressure on the company to ramp up the “wow!” factor.”
It really is quite perplexing isn’t it? It’s almost as if there has been a major shift in Apple’s chain of command.
And, indeed, this is what has happened. With the untimely demise of Apple Co-Founder, CEO and visionary, Steve Jobs, I truly believe that the company has remained rudderless for some time. They are beginning to realize that one cannot duplicate genius at the drop of the hat.
And, although Steve made certain that the company was firmly solidified with the proper personnel once he resigned, he forgot one important missing element – HIM.
So, on Tuesday, September 10th, all scrutinizing eyes and ears will be on Tim Cook and Co. as they present two new iPhone models (one expensive and one less so), an upgraded Apple TV unit and what? That’s it? Oh yes, the iOS 7 upgrade and, perhaps, a fingerprint sensor in the high end iPhone.
Which, for me, is fine. I mean, really, what else can we expect? Technology has proceeded at such a frantic pace that we need a bit of a breather just to absorb it all.
And enjoy it!
I am excited for the new iOS 7 platform and especially excited for the fingerprint sensor. And if I never have to use the HOME button again, it will be huge cause for celebration around here. That button is one glitchy, annoying hot mess. It’s time to bury it.
So, here’s to tomorrow and all that it brings. It all begins at 10:00 AM Pacific.
I will add another topic tomorrow and live blog the event right here. Now can someone please tell me what the S stands for in the proposed iPhone 5S? Perhaps, as a family member suggested, it merely means $!
Welcome To The Golden Era iPhone 5 S. I’ve Been Waiting For You.

Okay well this is exciting news for a slow Monday.
Apparently the next generation iPhone will have a new color option – gold!
Did they make this gold phone just for me? For the golden girls who like to geek their way through this phase in their life instead of cooking and baking and basically doing normal stuff?
I’d like to think so! It puts a smile on face when I do!
What started as a rumor over the weekend is pretty much fact, according to numerous credible tech sites such as iMore, AllTningsD and iPhoneInCanada.Ca.
Here is the scoop from AllThingsD:
“Sources in a position to know tell AllThingsD that Apple, after years of offering the iPhone in either black and white, will soon offer it in a gold tone, as well. Apple-news site iMore was first to break the news last Friday, its story corroborated in short order by TechCrunch on Sunday, along with 9to5Mac.
The new color option was described to AllThingsD as an “elegant” gold tone. “Think champagne, not ingot,” a source said, confirming what not seems to be some spot-on speculation from iMore last week. Sources say that the gold iPhone will feature a white face, with a gold-tone back plate and chamfered edging.
Why the new color option now?
As others have noted, gold tones are among the easiest colors to anodize, so technologically it’s an easy option to offer. It adds a bit of flash to an otherwise staid color palette that hasn’t changed in a number of years. It’s an obvious differentiator between the current iPhone 5 and whatever its successor ends up being called.”
I don’t know about you but there is no way Jose that I am not purchasing this iPhone. To not do so would just be wrong.
A gold phone for the golden years. Can’t you visualize Apple marketing the juice out of this color choice playing the theme music from Goldfinger? Ha!
Oh yes, this slow Monday has just gotten a little more exciting.
Will you buy a gold phone? And if not, what’s wrong with you? Ha!
Also, could someone please tell me what the S stands for in iPhone 5S? Could it be $ – as suggested by my son-in-law?
